Circus Liverpool & London
Circus started out in Liverpool in September 2002 by Liverpudlian and DJ/Producer, Yousef. After beginning as a house party in one small room, Yousef, working with Chibuku promoter Richard McGinnis has evolved the brand into one of the most celebrated parties in Liverpool and London, also hosting parties all across the globe.
Now into it’s second decade, Circus Liverpool is showing no signs of stopping and continues to hold ever impressive events boasting some of the strongest line ups in the UK.
As well as being an innovative music event, Circus is also a forward thinking music label which has EP’s from countless artists including having released Green Velvet’s track ‘Bigger Than Prince’, which proved to be one of the biggest tracks of 2013, as well as content from many other producers and Yousef himself, who has been at the forefront of the brand for the whole of it’s life. As for Yousef, he has pioneered the direction of Circus in Liverpool whilst also performing all over the world, and producing his own artist content, including his second album, A Product Of Your Own Environment.
Over the past decade Circus Liverpool has won the BBC’s UK ‘Club Of The Year’ award and Mixmag’s ‘Number One’ night as well as being asked to be the hosts for Radio 1’s 500th essential mix. This special event saw Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Pete Tong and Aeroplane play at the monumental event for both the BBC radio station and Circus itself.
Currently residing at Arts Club, Circus Liverpool has recently welcomed guests that include Joris Voorn, Steve Lawler, Paco Osuna and Loco Dice and have also hosted special events like their Circus Liverpool Halloween event, as well as their Boxing Day and New Years Day parties. Circus have also made it their policy to bring new sounds to the city each month by debuting a new artist at every one of their events.
