SHINE presents FAC 51 THE HACIENDA
★ SHINE PRESENT FAC51 THE HACIENDA ★
On Saturday 2nd August, Shine will be bringing the sound of Manchester’s inimitable Haçienda to one of Leeds most iconic venues, The Warehouse. Headlining the bill for the second of Shine’s Haçienda shows will be house music pioneer Marshall Jefferson, joined by a plethora of The Haçienda and Shine’s finest DJ’s spread across both of the clubs rooms.
Headliner Marshall Jefferson needs no introduction, as one of the founding fathers of house music he is the creator of one of the most eclectic house classics ‘Move Your Body’, that was a seminal hit in underground clubs in 1986, including The Haçienda. Collaborating with other influential characters including Steve Silk Hurley, Lil’ Louis, and Felix Da Housecat, Jefferson continued to make huge waves, producing Kechia Jenkins’ classic ‘I Need Somebody’ and CeCe Rogers’ ‘Someday’ amongst many others.
The Haçienda is revered as one of the most influential venues in clubbing history, and one of it’s aficionados Jon Dasilva will be joining Marshall Jefferson on the line-up for Shine’s second partnering event in Leeds. Dasilva held a residency at The Haçienda’s legendary acid house night ‘Hot’ as well as being a part of the clubs tour of America in 1990. As a DJ, Jon Dasilva pulls together a haven of house, techno and tech house with influences from all over the world, and EmFire label owner Sasha has commented that Jon Dasilva’s style as a resident at Hot influenced him “more than any other DJ”.
Also on the bill is Graeme Park and Tom Wainwright, two of Shine’s pinnacle Saturday night residents. Graeme Park started out as a resident at The Garage in Nottingham where he was one of the first selectors to champion the house sound in the UK. This came shortly before his joining with Mike Pickering at The Haçienda’s ‘Nude’ Friday nights. Finally, rounding off the line-up is none other than long time Back To Basics resident Buckley. Back To Basics is the longest running club night in the UK, with Dave Beer’s new FIFO project making waves in the club scene already, and Buckley has been a faithful resident for the night since the near beginning.
Early bird and first release tickets have already sold out, and it’s not surprising considering the line up that The Warehouse is playing host to on August 2nd. Second release tickets are still available but are likely to sell out soon.
