Back To Basics returns with One Records showcase
Published on: Monday 9th January 2017
Leeds party institution Back To Basics is back again on Saturday 28th January, with a One Records special featuring Adam Shelton, Subb-An and more. Held once again at its permanent home of Church, the night will throw together the One Records and Basics crews that have been central groups in the clubbing scenes of their hometowns over the last decade.
One Records was born in Birmingham back in 2009, and has played host to the likes of D’Julz, Point G and Kris Wadsworth as well as regulars John Dimas, Tristan Da Cunha, Jack Wickham and Alex Arnout. With Dimas and De Cunha both joining the party in Leeds alongside label heads Adam Shelton and Subb-an, the 90s-influenced house and techno sounds that One Records specialises in will be well represented.
Tristan Da Cunha of course has plenty of experience lining up for Back To Basics, where he was a resident for years having started at just 21 years of age. Having spent a decade as A&R for Ralph Lawson’s 2020Vision imprint, he’s a selector with a wealth of knowledge and killer tracks new and old, with a fair few remix releases demonstrating a further string to his bow. Armed with the right track for most conceivable moments on the dancefloor, he will make sure that former guests Adam Shelton and Subb-an feel right at home as they return to Basics for the first time in a little while, and the three of them will no doubt make sure that John Dimas’ first appearance at the legendary night is one to remember.
