PRISM invite Circus to make Leeds debut in February

Published on: Tuesday 10th January 2017

Liverpool’s Circus will finally make its Leeds debut this winter, thanks to an invitation from PRISM which will see Yousef and company take control of the main room at MiNT Warehouse. Featuring Paco Osuna, Bontan and others on Saturday 11th February, the night will be a remarkable one as one of the North’s leading dance music brands meets one of its best large venues.

Having headed the party from its inception through to its highly successful present, Yousef has become the face of Circus, and so his place on the lineup will come as no surprise. Armed with tech tools and house anthems for days, Yousef has become a favourite DJ to the scouse crowds, and has also spent the last decade tirelessly releasing his own music. Carioca Records, Cr2, Harthouse Mannheim and Cocoon have all been blessed with examples of Yousef’s fine musical output, with his own Circus Recordings label the chief beneficiary. Also home to EPs from the likes of Four Tet and Sven Väth, Green Velvet, Acid Mondays and Krankbrother, Circus has been a significant force in UK tech house, and so it is no wonder that Yousef has been able to coax such an array of talent to guest at his parties.

This time round, Paco Osuna and Bontan will also be joining regular Circus resident Lewis Boardman, as well as Jimmy Switch and Tobias of PRISM. The Spaniard Osuna has been an active figure in many different elements of dance music over the last twenty years, and his deep, thoughtful sound should be well-recognised by Circus fans after he played towards the end of last year. North-west based Bontan will also be familiar to many, so this one should be a strong introduction to Circus for the awaiting Leeds crowd as they gather at the bigger of MiNT’s two venues.
