Destructive Tendencies are a triple act from the UK who can turn their hand to any style within the Hardcore genre. Ever since they formed in 2010 they had one goal - break into the European Hardcore scene.
Early releases like 'Make It Harder' and 'La La La' they released on their own record label 'Quarantined Recordings Black' as well as an early version of their now well known hit 'Taken From Me' - which was picked up by Kutski and played by him on his BBC Radio 1 show... this was actually their first career break!
Soon they were gaining support from other big name Hardcore Djs like Mad Dog, AniMe, Hellsystem, Dione, DJ Chrono - this started to gain them more and more fans from overseas. This seen their tracks being played on the main stages at huge events like Dominator, Decibel, Defqon 1 by Partyraiser & this is when Europe sat up and started to take notice of #DTHardcore.
In November 2012 they sent Megarave Records a preview of a new EP and less than 1 month later it was signed! Their debut EP 'This Is Your Moment' which contained 3 tracks was riding high at numbers 1,2 and 3 in the Hardtunes.com chart.
Late in 2012 Neophyte Records and Traxtorm Records created a new super brand called 'This Is Hardcore' (TIH) and as well as releasing an album they subsequently created a remix competition, which Destructive Tendencies entered and were chosen as the winners of their category by DJ Mad Dog ,with a remix of his track 'Agony'.
Into 2013 as the Destructive Tendencies fan base continued to grow and grow, European success seemed in sight. Meanwhile Rotterdam Terror Corps were celebrating 20 years in the game and asked Destructive Tendencies to remix one of their big hits with Paul Elstak 'Skull Dominion". This hard hitting remix by the guys catapulted the Destructive Tendencies name even further into the European scene and as well as more support at big festivals, the world's number 1 Hardcore DJ 'ANGERFIST" supported the track – even going as far as saying publically Twitter he had the track on repeat!
As this European fan base grew their debut booking in Hardcore's homeland – Holland, was to be none other than the main Hardcore Stage (HC4L) of Decibel Festival! 50,000 visitors attend this event and it's a dream of most DJs to play as one of only a hand full of Hardcore acts at this yearly event.
As the diary continued to fill up lots more Radio 1 airplay followed, which led to UK Hard Dance Number 1 Kutski asking the guys to do a guest mix and interview live on his Radio 1 show. They played a 30 min mix on national radio and chatted to Kutski about new music, winning TIH remix contest and about the bookings in Europe and at home which now included playing at the biggest event in the UK @ Westfest in Twisted's Darkside Arena (10,000 visitors to Westfest)
2013 ended with a bang! A packed diary and their latest 2 track EP 'Fucking Up The Mainstream" hitting the number 1 and 2 spot on Hardtunes.com and the lead track "Fucking Up The Mainstream" spending 11 days in a row at number 1. A great achievement from this UK based act.
Into 2014 and the guys didn't plan on holding back, January saw them taken to the mainstage of BKJN vs Partyraiser 4 where they went B2B Partyraiser himself. Then in over to Germany for a performance was on the main stage of Pussy Motherfuckers festival! Topping off a fantastic February they destroyed the main state @ B2S Event "Hardcore 4 Life" at "Maassilo" in Rotterdam.
Moving into the summer Destructive Tendencies become the first ever UK act to sign to the worlds number 1 agency "Most Wanted". To top off this fantastic news they signed exclusively to Hardcore Blasters Records (Italy). Their debut ep "Our Core" reaching the highs of the Hardtunes.com top 10 with hard hitting tracks like "I’ll Let You Have Your Day" and "Our Core"
With a diary that saw them play all over Europe from the summer beaches of Ibiza for Ibiza Goes Hard to playing to 10,000 people at the Ravezone of Harmony of Hardcore.
And on the 1st November 2014 the guys secured their first Qdance / Art Of Dance booking. At Dominator Indoor - playing the main stage of the €30Million Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam.
Christmas was jammed packed, with a diary that saw them play 4 gigs across Holland & Germany including 2 on Christmas Day. The final gig of the 4 was the debut of the unique Ferro Dome in NL. 6000 people packed into a cylinder tank chamber. Unforgettable!
Huge events like BKJN VS Partyraiser VIP kicked off the year and every weekend the guys played round Europe to an ever growing army of fans. In March came their biggest booking to date, closing down the mainstage of the biggest ever Master Of Hardcore event in history.
20,000 people danced from 7am to 8am to the sounds of the guys vs. Partyraiser. They closed the set and the event with their first ever collaboration track – Sound Becomes One. People are already saying it’s the track of 2015 and the live recording of the set is already the highest rated hardcore set on LSDB of 2015, sitting nicely at the top 3 spot for every harder style.
By April the guy’s diaries were full until mid November, seeing them booked for over 50 events and 20 Festivals and its only 4 months into the year! By the start of June: Hardshock, Supersized Kingsday Festival, Fantasy Island Festival had all been subjected to the DT Sound! Even stretching the sounds to the legendary Monday Bar Spring Cruise from Sweden to Finland & Army of Hardcore Festival (Swiss). The summer has been action packed, including a late night 90 min extended set on the Mainstage of Harmony of Hardcore Festival and headline sets across Intents Festival (NL), Defqon 1 Festival (NL), Kings Of Core Festival (NL), E-Mission Festival (IT) Kiddstock Festival (UK) Chronicle Open Air Festival (FR) The Qontinent (BE) and Decibel Festival (NL) And throw into the mix the guys playing an exlusive world debut "Live" set on the mainstage of the biggest Hardcore gathering in the world – DOMINATOR. Not to mention the UK bookings at the biggest events from Darkside in Scotland to Horizon in England and the many club bookings across Europe, it’s very easy to see why the guys said 2015 was the year of DTHardcore.
