Arkitekt presents... A Desolat Birmingham - Gibb Street Warehouse
Gibb St Warehouse can proudly announce that on Friday 16thNovember the Desolat powerhouse will roll into Digbeth, the record label that has become the European electronic heartbeat in recent times. The brainchild of Loco Dice and long term production partner Martin Buttrich, the two Germans set it up in Brooklyn after relocating there in 2007 and since Dubfire debuted with Ribcage it has seen music from the likes of Luciano, Jay Haze, Franck Roger and many more.
Loco Dice headlines this show, the German firebrand easily one of the most revered and feted stars on the planet. Whether through his stellar residencies at Circo Loco or Cocoon in Ibiza, his ability to sell festivals out on his own, or the prolific reliability in crafting speaker shredding basslines through his productions, he remains a thoroughly alluring draw.
His sets have that savage ability to balance the seductive with the fierce, adorning his grooves with a raw and often savage aesthetic which showcases house and techno at its visceral best. A DJ who knows how to get the best out of world class soundsystems, hes the perfect tyrant to let rip on the brilliant sonics created in the bare brick wall brilliance of the venue.
Of course it wouldnt be a Desolat showcase if the labels finest were not also in attendance, and fortunately that charge is met easily. Next in line is tINI, the German artist being the perfect foil to Loco Dices relentless mandate. Her musical philosophy is built on an immeasurably important understanding of mood, creating warm up sets that bristle with menace and peak time offerings that fully let the wrath of her tempestuous outlook run amok.
Next in line is a live show from Guti, the Argentinean whos live show features some brilliant jazz infused house which has also seen light on record labels such as Supplement Facts, Crosstown rebels and Wolf & Lamb. Mexican typhoon Hector, a master at delivering the kind of percussive heavy beats that have become synonymous with Desolat since its inception, completes the bill.
