Daniel Bortz headlines the show, the massive German star from label Suol draws influence from funk, disco and soul. He's also known for his high energy, peak time DJ sets, which have seen him play recently at clubs like Watergate, Electric Pickle, D Edge, Warung and many more.
Daniel Bortz is an artist we've been looking to bring to Manchester for nearly a year now. Born and bread in Berlin, Daniel's been steadily putting out quality music since early 2008. The moment that saw Daniel rise to the top was with the release of his Draga EP in 2011 with the main track "Can't Sleep At Night" which made it into pretty much every respectable DJ's record box, and for a lot of people was easily the biggest track of 2011. It was this that also secured him a firm place in the Top 100 DJ's in the world, ranking him above artists such as Subb-An, Joy Orbison, Heidi, Kerri Chandler and Craig Richards to name a few.
At the age of 20 Jamie played out his first gig at the Lightbox in London before becoming involved in his local scene at The Loft Party in Milton Keynes. It was that local scene and music education that led him to the island of Ibiza where Jamie spent three summers listening to and working with the best DJ’s at the world’s best clubs as well as playing at The Zoo Project, Privilege and Ibiza’s number one club Space for it’s Closing Fiesta; a club where Jamie also enjoyed a residency at Kehauma in the Red Box alongside Daniel Dalton.
Jamie’s most popular track to date came back in 2011 on Ellesse’ label Kaluki, “She Said” (She Spoke To Me In French EP) This and his other releases have turned heads in the house scene receiving plays at Dc10, Space and all across the UK and Europe. His musical influences range from artists like Kerri Chandler, The Chemical Brothers and MJ Cole.
