April brings Vancouver's Dead Ghosts to The Macbeth.
★ Dead Ghosts ★
"They’re a cross between Harlem of last year, The Vandals, a tame Dead Kennedys, The Walkmen and The Byrds. They got a little doo-wop in em too. They’re no JJ Revue, but they’re good. Buddy Holly cool. The boys are from Vancouver, their record was released late 2010 and it’s 13 tracks of pure garage bliss. I think only two tracks surpass the 3:30 mark…haha, gotta love Canadian surf garage rock." - Newbandoftheday
★ CLAW MARKS ★
"Batten down the hatches and fetch the earplugs; we might have found the UK's most exciting new punk band. Not to be confused with the Virginia-based act of the same name, Claw Marks are a five-headed, bone-rattling explosion of noise who have recently started terrorizing people with their live show." - NME
★ THEE MVPS ★
"There are long stretches of the new Thee MVP's song "Funeral" that sound a ton like Ty Segall's "Oh Mary", though there's certainly more than enough to differentiate the two. That's how these London dudes open their new EP, which should go a long way to indicate the chutzpuh and fury on display here. But perhaps their most impressive trait comes forward when they lock into a lengthier groove while still bashing out a fast-and-loud rock'n'roll song with guitar solos and impressive percussion work." - Pitchfork
