Bear's Den - Islands Tour 2015
On Friday the 6th of February, Birmingham’s The Institute will play host to Bear’s Den, the London trio who’s debut album was released in October to the delight of many who have discovered the beckoning talent of these three individuals. After releasing two EP’s, ‘Agape’ and ‘Without/Within’, the folk-rock vibe that could be likened to Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling or Stornoway has captured fans all over the world, consequently leading to a world tour that is already underway.
Their debut EP’s that were released on Communion both received acclaim from instant fans and critics alike, and the positives do not differ when eyes turn on their debut album. Simple titled ‘Islands’; it has been described as a “wholly satisfying, multi-layered folk-pop record, which exhibits considerable promise”. Rolling grooves and blissful harmonic choruses lodge their songs in your brain and do not fail to contain meaningful lyrics that were dealt with deeply and intuitively, rather than thrown together in a rally of carelessness.
Currently making their way through the US with dates in Chicago, Seattle, LA and Washington, Bear’s Den will then be flying back home to play their UK dates before continuing with shows around Europe in France and Germany. In the UK, their music will visit Manchester, Oxford, Brighton and Newcastle, as well as this date in Birmingham, at The Institute’s Temple.
