Over the past 16 years, thousands of dance music labels have surfaced releasing great music, some of which have lasted longer than others. There is however, no disputing the quality and longevity of John Digweed’s Bedrock label that is this year celebrating its 16th birthday with a number of parties, one of which is taking place on Saturday the 16th of October at The Electric Brixton in London.
Starting up in 1999, Bedrock has established itself as one of the most professional electronic music labels on the scene, with over 100 releases under its belt and a huge number of parties to add to its sizeable CV. Run by friends, label mates and DJs John Digweed and Nick Muir, you can expect hear a combination of the best in house and techno, alive with the brands signature melodic and progressive sound. Over the many releases that have come out through the imprint, the most notable have been from producers such as King Unique, Christian Smith, Slam, Guy J, Nick Warren and Robert Babicz.
For this special celebration at one of London’s most iconic venues, John Digweed, one half of Bedrocks definitive duo will be headlining amongst a number of other guests who have featured on the label in past years. These include Ovum Records boss Josh Wink whom is this year also celebrating a huge milestone with his own label that is reaching its 20th anniversary. Pig & Dan are next on the bill and are a Spanish duo who are revered for producing tough techno that has been seen on the genres best labels like Cocoon and Terminal M.
Following on is Spencer Parker, the owner of Work Them Records that this year has taken right off with high quality releases from Radio Slave and Dana Ruh amongst many others. As a DJ and a producer himself he has released music on Rekids, Saved and Circus as well as completing an endearing touring schedule that has included dates at Berghain/Panorama Bar, XOYO and festivals across the globe. Rounding off the line up are Soul of Noise and Neil Browne.
