Happy New Year butter lovers! Fresh off the back of the festive season we are extremely proud to bring you one of the true driving forces behind the Chicago house resurgence… the mighty Amir Alexander. DJing since 1993 and making beats since 1998, Amir is a true connoisseur of both the music & the culture. As an artist he has been steadily gaining recognition for his numerous and very well received EP’s on record labels from Chicago, New York, London, and Frankfurt as well as his own imprint Vanguard Sound. Since his superb release ‘The Gutter Flex EP’ on Argot in early 2012, he has since been snapped up for releases on Deep Vibes and Hypercolour offshoot Hype_Ltd. There is a serious amount of hype surrounding this chap!

A 20 year veteran Vinyl DJ, Amir’s skills behind the decks are truly formidable. Recording under the name Amir Alexander and the pseudonym Guerrilla Soul, this cat strives to bring a raw and gritty modern spin on classic Detroit, Chicago, and New York underground sounds. With extremely rare appearances this side of the pond, we are very excited about welcoming Amir for his Leeds debut.
