English pop/rock duo Chas & Dave are pioneers of their invented style, dubbed ‘Rockney’, which the pair have been bringing to the far corners of the UK since they formed back in 1975. As a portmanteau of the words ‘rock’ and ‘cockney’, you can get an idea of the thought behind the music these two sing, and that is an aim to just have lots of fun.
Mixing boogie woogie piano chords, pub sing along lyrics and Beatles like rock and roll, Chas & Dave have gained several Top 40 singles that include their hit ‘Gertcha’, which climbed the charts to number 20 in 1979, and led the pair to releasing their nine best selling albums.
In 2013, Chas & Dave leapt back onto the radar as they released their first studio album in 18 years. Titled ‘That’s What Happens’, it had given new life to the dup who will embark on a UK tour on March the 29th, beginning In Bromley just outside the capital. After here the duo will travel up and down the country to Wakefield, Glasgow, Newcastle and Leeds before stopping in Liverpool to play at The O2 Academy on May the 25th.
