Victoria Park will be playing host to the first ever Citadel Festival this summer, welcoming some of the UK’s most acclaimed concert groups who will be bringing this unique one day event to the East End of London on the 19th of July 2015. Headlining the bill will be 2 of todays most in demand contemporary artists, Ben Howard and Bombay Bicycle Club.
After a sell out tour that saw him performing shows at some of the most iconic theatres and arenas worldwide, Ben Howard will return to London to play his stunning new show at the inaugural Citadel Festival, performing flagship tracks from his number one selling, critically acclaimed LP ‘I Forget Where We Are’, not to mention other songs from the follow up album ‘Every Kingdom’. Playing alongside Ben will be Bombay Bicycle Club, one of the hottest indie bands on the music circuit that compromises of a group of friends from Crouch End, whose only London performance this year will be this special show at Citadel. Their magnificent curtain-closing show at Earls Court in December, together with their most recent, fourth studio album ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’ demonstrate how this band is one at the top of their game.
Created by the fusing of concert heavyweights Wilderness Festival and Superfly, Citadel Festival will feature a wide breadth of musical talent playing throughout the day and evening. As well as a main stage overflowing with musical delights, Citadel will also be curating a long list of treats across other stages from the acclaimed London based musical label and promoter Communion, as well as another one of the UKs most successful promoters, Soundcrash. Music will not be where the adventures end as gastronomic feasts will be put on, not to mention Secret Productions’ ‘Sunday Papers Live’, theatre productions and other live musicianship.
