Clarks - Bashment vs Afrobeats
The long awaited…
Bashment Vs Afrobeat
Not a week goes by here at Clarks when we don’t get someone asking us when are we going to do an
Afrobeat link up. Well this year, the time has finally come and we’ve got a serious treat in store for
you with two very special guests coming over from Manchester for this one!
Representing Guiding Star Hi-Fi, JOEY B has been running the successful Hot Milk dance in
Manchester for over 8 years. A skilled DJ with an eye-popping vinyl collection, Joey is a musical
connoisseur of all things big & bashy. Whilst well known for rinsing bashment, reggae and several
other genres, Joey has more recently moved into Afrobeat territory with last year’s Azonto Mix
which you can listen to here: https://soundcloud.com/joey-b-hotmilk/joey-b-the-azonto-mixtape-

Joining Joey on mic duties is the imitable MC FOX. A stalwart of the Manchester scene, Fox’s style is
truly unique combining yardstyle rapping with a tremolo singjay style. Fox has recently collaborated
with some heavyweight producers including Zed Bias & Chimpo. If you haven’t heard of Fox, most
likely you will have heard his verse on Zed Bias & Omar’s smash ‘Dancin’: http://www.youtube.com/

We’re kicking the year off with a bang bringing you two of the hottest genres around right now. It’s
time to dust off the Clarks and brush up on your Azonto moves!
