Clarks Leeds - T&T Soca Carnival

Carnival season is here! OK so it may still be somewhat chilly outside but if we were in Trinidad it

would be blazing sunshine and we’d all be getting ready for Carnival 2014! As flights to the Calypso

Island are a tad pricey, we’ve decided to transform Hifi into your very own slice of carnival. This

month, it’s less of the black, gold and green and more red, white & black!

Trinidad & Tobago is famous for being the birthplace of Calypso but more recently it has reached

global audiences with its up-tempo and palance inducing export Soca! Some of our favourite artists

come from the Island including Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin and Kerwin DuBois.

Many of you will be more than familiar with this musical style but this month we’ll be rinsing it hard.

If any of you were at the Soca special last year, you will know you’ll need to put your soca legs on as

dancing to this requires serious stamina! A towel might be an idea!
