Bulgarian-born Metodi Hristov has been winning all manner of fans, from Matthias Tanzmann to Marco Carola, for his finely-tuned percussive tech-house sound. It was his 2014 Glasgow Underground hit 'Step Outside' that brought him to the attention of many, but he'd previously been honing his craft in his native Sofia, releasing his debut album 'It's Too Much' in 2013. His most recent 'Ariel vs. Spiderman' EP for Monika Cruse's Terminal M label follows on a year after a collaborative effort with Stefano Noferini, still the label's most successful release. It's early days yet, but his solo project may come close to beating it, the title track a coiled spring of energy infected by a particularly virulent strain of bass.
Egg resident Kyle E originally worked at the club as part of the lighting crew, but after filling in for an absent DJ one night wowed the crowd and staff so was recruited as part of the in-house team. He's since released his debut track 'Illusion' on Familia Records, the tune snapped up by Jon Digweed for his ‘Live On South Beach’ compilation, while Christian Smith invited Kyle to guest on his widely syndicated Tronic Records radio show.
Head of techno party Under My Meet, Ireen Amnes is the latest addition to Egg's residents. Winning Emerging Ibiza's wildcard winner prize last year earned her a guest slot at Space Ibiza alongside Carl Cox. Joining him again this year in his final season, as well as playing Unusual Suspects at Sankeys, she follows debut releases for Upperberry and Coco Cole's 'Say Yes: Volume II’ with a track on Egg's first compilation, forthcoming on its recently launched What Came First label.
