After debuting on Radio 1's Essential Mix last summer with a mix taking in everything from Dixon to Dirtybird, Sonny Fodera has staked his claim as one of the biggest stars of house music's modern revival. Mentored by Green Velvet/Cajmere and brought onboard his Cajual label for the chunky sound developed over his first two albums, 2013's 'Moving Forward' and 2014's 'After Parties & Aeroplanes', both of which featured collaborations galore, he's since joined the long-standing institution that is Defected. Dropping at the end of last year, his third long-player 'Frequently Flying' is the basis for his current tour which arrives at Egg Presents… Check lead single 'You & I', featuring vocals from Janai, and you'll get a taste of Fodera's maturing ability to produce vocal hits, a facet that no doubt contributed towards his 2016 nomination in the Deep House category of the DJ Awards.
New York duo Walker & Royce got an early start on Nurvous Records, the modern off-shot of their home city's classic Nervous Records. But it was the support of Damian Lazarus, who signed them to Crosstown Rebels, which propelled them into the limelight. With releases on Dirtybird, Pets Recordings, ViVA, Relief Records, W&O Street Tracks and Food Music amongst their output over the last five years, the pair have not stopped gathering momentum – their full-bodied sound winning fans from Eats Everything to Loco Dice, as well as scoring them an Essential New Tune with Pete Tong.
