Flight Facilities at Electric Brixton, London
Flight Facilities debut album ‘Down To Earth’ is due to be released in October, and with the release of this 14 track LP, the Australian duo consisting of Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell will now be embarking on a worldwide tour, stopping in Perth, Sydney, Berlin, Paris and New York as well as a single UK show at The Electric Brixton in London.
First starting to mix other artists material in 2009, Flight Facilities began producing their own material in 2010, when their debut single ‘Crave You’ was released, receiving major attention from Australian radio station Triple J. This was followed by the release of their single ‘Foreign Language’ that was not only remixed and played by many DJs and producers in the underground dance music scene, it was also awarded a J-Award for its music video and appeared in the aforementioned radio stations Hottest 100 during its release year, 2011. Since then, several singles such as ‘Claire De Lune’ and their remix of the C90’s ‘Shine A Light’ have been championed in charts, on radio and the latter was even features on Rockstars 2013 game Grand Theft Auto V. The debut album that is due to hit the shelves on the 27th of Octobers via a multitude of formats features collaborations with many revered vocalists such as Emma Louise, Stee Downes, Reggie Watts, Bishop Nehru and Owl Eyes, spread over a plethora of fresh material and past hits.
The Electric Brixton is one of London’s most iconic music venues, and is this year pulling out all the stops with its line up of events that have taken place this summer, and with those that are lined up to take place over the next few months. Amongst the upcoming autumn and winter dates are the likes of Congo Natty’s Jungle United, Grandmaster Flash, Deep Dish and Jess Glynne, with Deadmau5, Slint, Dubfire and Matthias Tanzmann having already played this year. The venue features a vast array of its original décor, blended with plenty of modern feats and an intricate lighting and sound system.
