FTLOSF is an independently run fan convention put on by fans. We are not authorised by or connected with any other film or production company.
The event is a meeting ground for fans young and old, from all over the world to come together and celebrate their love of all things Sci-Fi related.
The event will now take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December, and is a fun packed two days of jaw dropping animatronic props & exhibits, guest signers, cosplay, merchandise stalls, gaming, musical entertainment, food courts, kids entertainment & much more.
Some examples of our amazing fan built attractions at this year’s event include a fully animatronic Optimus Prime head, which will be able to talk and interact with fans. His head will be fully built and ready in time for the convention, and the rest of his body will be completed in 2017. When finished he will stand 32ft tall, and have full movement apart from walking features. For more information and to follow progress of the build click :- https://www.facebook.com/Project-Prime-858688794258867/
Another confirmed fan built attraction will be a fully animatronic E.T, this will be able to interact with humans and have full body and facial movement and effects. For more information and to follow progress of the build click :- https://www.facebook.com/My-ET-982534628497803/
More props and builds are added on a weekly basis, to keep up with the latest builds and creations, and for latest updates on the event, sign up for the newsletter here :- www.fortheloveofsci-fi.com
We also encourage and ask fans to come forward with your home made props and creations, which you can display at the event. Information on submitting a request to do this is available on the website.
There will be changes to this year’s event. We realised there were certain aspects that didn’t quite work last year, here is what we will be changing.
Firstly, there will be no sessions, opening times will run from 9am until 7pm, you can arrive anytime during the day to attend. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis. There are 800 spaces so anybody with disabilities please arrive early to ensure you gain a space.
There will be no VIP tickets at this year’s event, as all photo opportunities and attractions will be free of charge, you may take your own pictures of the exhibition. There will be no VIP catering. Themed catering will still be at the event, but also more affordable catering units. All customers will enter through the large indoor entrance, and there will be no VIP queue systems, all visitors will queue in the same lanes.
Earlybird tickets for this year’s event will go on sale at 7pm Friday 27th May 2016. Earlybird tickets will be priced at £8 children, OAP, concession, £15 adult, and £37 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children). These tickets will increase in price to £12, £20, and £50 respectively.
