Future Tribes 10th March @ ORBS – Sepia / Hypho / Rasper / Future Tribes Residents
For our first event of 2017 we return to the Old Red Bus Station on the 10th March with more of that
sweet sweet bass music, built to set your teeth on edge and drown your senses in bassweight.
We’ve scoured the bass music scene from the UK and beyond to bring you our biggest line up to date!
SEPIA ft. Jack Taylor
Gourmet Beats / Transient Audio / Infernal Sounds
Bristol-based Theo Bennett, better known as Sepia, has been making big waves in the dubstep world
of late. He had a great 2016, dropping the stunning Laid To Rest / Remember on Infernal Sounds and
the absolute riddim that is Amber on Well Rounded Records. He’s kept the pace up recently with an
EP on Transient Audio that toes the line between joy and melancholy and deep and dubby.
Somehow he’s found time between all that to slay dancefloors across the country so, if you’ve yet to catch one of his sets, prepare yourself!
Sepia’s promised to bless us with a strictly dubplate special set alongside Jack Taylor, a saxophonist from the West Country, who’ll be giving proceedings that special something.
887 Records / Boss Mode / Second To None / Hot Cakes Bass
Another of the UK’s homegrown rising bass music stars, Hypho is seriously one to watch this year.
Armed with a style that favours club-ready cuts, drawing influence from dubstep, house and
garage, Hypho’s dropped tunes on the likes of 887 Records, Boss Mode, Hot Cakes Bass, Punks
Music, Second To None and most recently Eat My Beat with his debut vinyl release the Gong Tau EP.
With that kind of pedigree you better believe his DJ sets are just as fire and we can’t wait to watch him
tear the Old Red Bus Station a new one.
Sure State Records
Rasper is the head honcho behind Sure State Records, a dubstep label that started in Cleveland, Ohio. He recently made the step to bring his sound to the UK. Both him and his label have carved out a tidy niche with their brand of low-slung hard hitting 140. With some exceptional relases from himself and other producers from the USA such as OldGold, Organik, DJ Varient, Dalek One and Lory Kong we knew we needed to get him down to play for us at Future Tribes.
It gives us exceptional pleasure to welcome him to Leeds for his debut UK set.
