British singer and songwriter George Ezra will be descending upon The Ritz in Manchester on Monday 20th October to showcase his skills with his bluesy guitar plucking and uniquely recognisable voice.
Hailing from Hertford, Ezra started drawing attention after his appearance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury in 2013. In October of the same year he released his debut EP named ‘Did You Hear The Rain?’ that shot the young one up to number 11 in the UK singles chart. Acclaimed by both fans and critics George Ezra was met with awards and accolades such as being hotly tipped by iTunes, Vevo and MTV for new artists in 2014. His follow up single ‘Budapest’ reached number 6 in Italy, leading to his newest single ‘Cassy O’’ and a debut album ‘Wanted On Voyage’ that was released on June 30th. With the success of his production he has appeared on support for the likes of Tom Odell and Lianne La Havas amongst others, donning a sound that is most often described as bluesy, with ‘a voice beyond the years’.
Joining Ezra at The Ritz Manchester will be a number of special support acts including the talented singer from Blackpool, Rae Morris.
Manchester’s The Ritz is one of the cities most iconic music venues. Built in 1928 the venue was originally a meeting place for revellers to gather and dance to classical music, however with the ever evolving music scene the hall is now used as a live music and clubbing venue. Having seen high profile performances from the likes of The Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol and R.E.M, as well as hosting some of Manchester’s most popular alternative clubbing events such as Ultimate Power and Rollerdisco at The Ritz, the newly refurbished venue is now a beautifully intimate yet sizeable place to see musical wonders such as Ezra and his guests.
