Once described as ‘the most sophisticated drugs baron of all time’, Howard Marks is a worldwide legend who since being released from prison in 1995 has continued to become a social pundit through his engaging live shows and work with the media and various influential musicians. Howard’s lifetime experiences as a drug smuggler and revolutionary opinions have been published in bestselling books and some of the most well know news publications of today. Put this together with his one many comedy shows and musical work that includes DJing and owning his own label ‘Bothered’.
Unfortunately, in recent years Howard was diagnosed with cancer and has been fighting long and hard with a unique determination, continuing to perform shows and spread his energy under the illness he has been plagued with. At a one night only concert at London’s The Forum, Howard will be appearing on stage to raise funds to support his dependants through his cancer treatment. There will be a number of guests of appearing, the first of which will be members of Super Furry Animals, Rhys Ifans and disco deviant Greg Wilson, alongside a number of others who will be announced over the coming weeks.
Also, this event will help set up a Mr Nice Foundation as well as acting as the closing scenes for the definitive documentary of Howard’s life that is currently being filmed. Being told to expect the unexpected it is looking to be an exciting show, full of surprises and treats!
