London's Vanilla Ace exploded on to the scene back in 2012 with releases on Toolroom, MODA, Blockhead, Maquina and Ministry of Sound. With a distinctive production sound somewhere between house and disco lovingly and influenced by New Jack Swing and the 1980's, the newly emerged DJ/Producers tracks had early support from the likes of The Magician, Soulclap and Seth Troxler just to name a few.
Since this breakout on dance music’s most exciting independent labels, Vanilla Ace began to climb dance music’s most notable barometers and was subsequently nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough’ and ‘Best New Artist’ for the Soundplate awards in 2012. Keeping up the momentum, 2013 saw him go from strength to strength with high charting singles on Beatport, Traxsource and Trackitdown and his ‘Musicology’ EP on Andre Crom’s OFF recordings received acclaim from bloggers, DJ's and fans alike.
Vanilla Ace has had a steady stream of releases over the last year including collaborations with Sharam Jay on Bunny Tiger, Chad Tysonon Dear Deer, Barber on ‘Go Deeva’. With a plethora of original material released on Cr2, LouLou Records and remixes on Milk and Sugar, Urbana Recordings and King Street Sounds, Vanilla Ace continued his quest to create quality house music with groove in 2014. He was subsequently named as one of Beatport’s Top 10 best selling Nu Disco/Indie Dance Artist for 2014.
Touring globally, Vanilla Ace in the last year has toured India, America, Australia and Brazil. Playing to over 9,000 people in Green Valley, Brazil last year was his most stand-out show to date.
2015 is set bring a myriad of tour dates and releases including more international tours alongside major festival appearances and a whole load of new remixes, originals and collaborations set to be released.
The art of sensitive noise and subtle sounds and beats is what CROATIA SQUAD is all about, as well as one of Switzerland’s most on demand and respected deep and tech house producer and DJ.
Within the past four years, Croatia Squad has been delivering high quality deep and tech house with releases on some of the biggest and most respected labels in Electronic Music such as, Toolroom Records, Enormous Tunes, Ministry Of Sound, Sirup Music, and Milk & Sugar. While on remix duties, their Calippo remix, “Looking for A Meaning”, made it to Beatport’s top 100.
In 2009 Croatia Squad ran the successful annual compilation series “Croatia The Opening” which contains exclusive chill-out tracks from some of the biggest names in scene. That same year they also signed their first release, “Electric Masquerade” EP on Enormous Tunes, including a remix by house music legend Daniel Portman - later signed to Toolroom Records.
In 2013, their collaboration with Calippo, “The Conductor”, was signed to Ministry of Sound. Croatia Squad’s new single “Be Good To Me” has been in the top 3 for weeks, and is sure to be this year’s Beatport indie charts sensation gaining global attention from some of the biggest names. On the other hand the latest EP “All Alone” includes a classic house infused nu disco monster “Give it All Away”. Full of bass line, pumping beat sections, touchy major chords and an urban like vocal hooks, calling it a crowd pleaser would be an understatement.
The revolutionary distinctive sound is only an instrumental part of the success. Taken part for years in Europe’s dance culture, and playing at legendary venues, through genre shifts and changes, gaining experience, and knowledge, learning about the affinity with the crowd, which he uses intelligently to build a connection. Trying to bring the world of underground house and techno in a way that can be accepted by the mass public is the goal for Croatia Squad’s upcoming DJ-Tour.
