Four-piece rock band from Dublin, Ireland will be descending upon the UK at the beginning of 2015 for a nationwide tour, during which they will be stopping at Birmingham’s The Institute on March the 14th. The band formed fully in 2012 and released their debut ‘Kodaline EP’ in September of the same year. ‘All I Want’, taken from this first EP was chosen to be Record Of The Week by BBC Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton. The attention this single gave them together with an arsenal of further unreleased tracks resulted in them being nominated for the Sound Of 2013 poll and consequently led to Kodaline releasing their debut album in June 2013, titled ‘In A Perfect World’.
Their 11-track debut album went platinum and reached the number 3 spot in the UK Album Chart as well as topping the charts over in Ireland. Many of Kodaline’s tracks have subsequently been used in the soundtracks of popular TV programmes and films, such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Fault In Our Stars and Gogglebox. The band has described their music as ‘therapy’ to them, as they write and perform many of their own songs. This results in them pouring a lot of feeling into their tracks that carry an innate honesty to their own lives.
Kodaline will be embarking on their UK tour during February and will be calling at Glasgow, London and Nottingham before playing at this date at The Institute in Birmingham on the 14th of March.
