LA PETITE MORT + THE ARTICLE + ASIO'S EYES + HELLO OPERATOR
You've probably caught La Petite Mort, one of York's coolest bands, here supporting Little Comets, Johnny Borrel or Cosmo Jarvis. Nevertheless, they're headlining material in their own right with a psychedelia and shoegaze blend, set off with a raw 21st century twang pulling on hip hop beats, reggae rhythms, ethnic tickles with astronomical ambience and topped off with grungey gloop!
Been impressed by The Article every time; a kind of post-punk gothic gloom and doing a damn fine job when on the bill with The 1975 here recently.
Pete Wise from One&Other mag has summed up Asio's Eyes perfectly so, 'nuff said from us ... "Murky, jazzy, trippy psych-indie doesn't come more soulful, more evocatively than this. Asio's Eyes combine world influences with emotionally intelligent delivery to blissful effect"
And finally, Tommy And The Talls you will probably recognise from other great bands playing at Fibbers with a mid-90s indie slant, an old school rock feel based around loud guitar riffs and big ass drums!
