On November the 11th, English Synthpop group La Roux will be dropping in on the O2 Shepard’s Bush Empire in London as part of their newly announced UK tour dates.
La Roux first appeared in 2008 with their first single ‘Quicksand’ and the follow up single ‘In For The Kill’, which had a massive impact on the UK chart reaching number 2. Since then, the band have released a number of well received singles and have succeeded in becoming one of Britain’s favourite purveyors of their musical style. Influenced mainly by 80’s British Synthpop groups such as Eurythmics and The Human League, La Roux have become a modern spearhead of the much-loved sound.
Aside from their original work, La Roux have also had their tracks remixed by many revered dance music artists including electro house producer Jack Beats and dubstep artists Skream and Skrillex. Their remixes of La Roux’s tracks like ‘I’m Not Your Toy’ received lots of play time in night clubs and on the radio, thus giving the band fans in both the underground scene and commercially.
La Roux will be playing at the O2 Shepard’s Bush Empire on the 11th November, bringing with them their guitars, keyboards and gelled up red hair. With their new album Trouble In Paradise due to be released on 7th July, we will be sure to hear plenty of new material alongside their classics. The new album has already been praised by music journalists, making the prospect of this gig an exciting one indeed.
