The inimitable English Synthpop band La Roux will be playing at the O2 Academy Oxford on the 15th November, as part of a series of newly announced UK tour dates.
La Roux first came about in 2008, when their debut single ‘Quicksand’ and the follow up release ‘In For The Kill’ were hugely fronted, with the latter reaching number 2 in the UK singles chart. Since then the group have received a large number of well-received singles and have succeeded in becoming one of the UK’s spearheads of the 80’s Synthpop sound, influenced by some of the most iconic bands from that era including the likes of The Human League, Eurythmics and Depeche Mode.
La Roux may have come to stardom with their own original material, but they have also gained a reputation in the dance music scene, as their tracks have been remixed by many reputable dance producers including Skream, Skrillex and electro house artists Jack Beats. These remixes of La Roux’s tracks including the single ‘I’m Not Your Toy’ have gained a lot of airplay both in nightclubs and on the radio, thus giving the group fans commercially and underground.
La Roux, on November 15th, will be playing at the O2 Academy Oxford where they will bring their guitars, keyboards and of course the gelled up red hair to showcase their new album as well as performing many of their more well known classics. The new album Trouble In Paradise is scheduled to be released on the 7th July and has already gained acclaim from many music journalists.
La Roux Oxford tickets are available from Ticket Arena.
