Live From Jodrell Bank, ‘Where Science Meets Music’.
The Live From Jodrell Bank venture is a unique take on outdoor music and festival events brought to you by those behind The Warehouse Project, Kendal Calling and Ear To The Ground.
Live From Jodrell Bank sees some of the most innovative and important artists in modern music performing beneath the shadows of the world famous and globally iconic, Lovell telescope. Large scale visual shows supplement the music, all projected onto the awe inspiring 76 metre telescope, that since 1957 has been at the heart of space discovery, pioneering developments in outer space and scientific knowledge.
2011 saw the beginnings of the project with ‘Transmission 001‘ featuring The Flaming Lips, British Sea Power, OKGO and Wave Machines. The success of 2011 lead up two events the following year when the lineups boasted even more impressive bookings in the likes of Paul Weller, Elbow, Liane La Havas, Cherry Goast, Graham Coxon, Craig Charles and more.
2012 saw some recognition from the highly respected UK Festival Awards, where Live From Jodrell Bank walked away with ‘The Extra-Festival Activity Award’ setting them up for their biggest set of events yet in 2013.
