Lunar Underground presents: Space Jams
Our launch party is sure to corrupt Mint Warehouse, but our second event will push the frontiers of bass music forward down Sheaf St way, this time featuring UKG’s crème de la crème!
Of recent, Sheaf St has gained notoriety in the city for being one of the best and most unique event spaces in Leeds. We feel good, good, good. We feel good, yes wonderful good! We have managed to secure a RARE intimate set from a living legend within the UK’s electronic music community
A pioneer of that distinctive 2-step garage sound, Zed Bias’ productions helped lay the foundations for dubstep’s evolution. Dave Jones aka Zed Bias has taken his music to the four corners of the globe. Renowned for leaving audiences gasping in amazement & with a record library spanning over 2 decades, we are honoured to have Zed Bias coming to perform for us - you are certainly going to experience something magical!
With seminal tracks like Neighbourhood & Shizam, the Sidewinder / Sidestepper & Biosonic head honcho’s experimental and progressive bass-riddled sound is sure to turn Sheaf St into an absolute bass box.
Coming to us off the back of what is sure to be a mesmerising set at Outlook (Croatia), Zed Bias is returning to Leeds for his first performance in 3 years. Having previously headlined Canal Mills & Beaverworks, this stalwart of the underground scene is sure to shake up your Monday night for the better!

Closing out our second event will be Nuphlo, one of the most exiting prospects to come out of Leeds. With a genius musical palette and Asian underground influences, Nuphlo is sure to deliver one of the freshest track selections around. Nuphlo cycles through the bass music spectrum with ease and we can’t wait for him to rearrange minds in Sheaf St’s intimate space.
Being summoned by Foreign Beggars & Jazzsteppa for remix duties and having gained regular praise on BBC Radio 1, Nuphlo’s 10+ year career has gained him significant respect in the underground community. Having released on the forward-thinking Studio Rockers imprint, be sure to experience melodies and basslines that you will hear nowhere else!
Archa b2b Pirata
Lunar Underground’s resident Archa is teaming up with childhood friend and badboy selector Pirata for an incredibly diverse set filled with grime, dub, experimental new school garage and a few surprises to keep you on your toes! Their chemistry is next level & you should expect something extraordinary when these 2 are in control!
Having shellshocked El Dorado and being poised to deliver 90s fire at our maiden event, Archa is sure to send heads wobbling with some deep down low 140bpm oscillations. Anyone who is attending our Launch Party is in for a treat and will get a glimpse at one of Leeds’ finest young talents.
For those unaware, Pirata is a serious cratedigger with unheard, off-the-cuff material for days. A regular at Newcastle’s Lively Up & now defunct Pirate Material event series, expect him to pull out unique tracks left, right and centre.
We are gassed to hear what this duo have in store for us!
An avid sub-low bass fanatic, Trophy has promised us a weighty 130+ bpm set which is sure to get your head bopping and your two step in motion. With influences ranging from trap to dub to D&B (and many other leftfield choices which he is sure to throw in the mix), Trophy’s low end frequencies will vibrate throughout any surface they come into contact with. Safe to say you will HEAR and FEEL these uniquely filthy riddims. With big plans in store for the rest of 2019, someone anchor this man to the ground because he is going to takeoff! Get yourself in the know and prepare yourself for some gorgeously authentic, crisp productions!
Underneath Collective & Babystep’s very own Big Jo will be stepping up for the next instalment in our Heritage Sessions series. We have commissioned a throwback ‘History of 140’ performance from one of Leeds’ most talented underground DJs. Reminiscing over that original low end sound & bringing the finest selections from broken beat dub culture, we know Big Jo is going to light up our first solo event. Expect Leeds to be taken over with that vibey old skool minimalist sound for an hour of shear sonic pleasure.
