MusicMatters. w/ Russ Yallop, Mark Jenkyns, Lauren Lo Sung.

3 Headliners, 2 Venues, 1 Night

The highly anticipated collective Music Matters returns to Darlington for a Bonfire Night not to be forgotton. On the 5th November Music Matters brings you not 1 but 3 Headliners that are guaranteed to drop some of the biggest bangers of 2016.

Hitting off with our first headliner: Russ Yallop
Few producers of recent years have exploded onto the underground house scene like Crosstown Rebels’ latest signing Russ Yallop. While some producers spend years finding their feet, Russ made a clear statement of intent with ‘I Can’t Wait’ his debut release on Crosstown Rebels, a solid cut of nu-school house that was charted across the board by everyone from Jamie Jones to MANDY and was featured by Heidi on her ‘In New Music We Trust’ show on BBC Radio One. Meanwhile, ‘Rock Me’ on the B-side was picked up by DJ Mag and featured on their ‘Best of British’ covermount compilation at the start of this year. Named as ‘One To Watch’ in Electronic Beats magazine and with future releases on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Creations and Crosstown’s new ‘Rebellion’ label offshoot, it should come as little surprise that Russ got snapped up by ‘Ibiza Voice’ to mix a recent instalment of their hugely popular podcast series despite being relatively new to the scene.

Moving into our second headliner: Mark Jenkyns
Former steel engineer from Newcastle has become one of the hottest properties within today's electronic music scene. A season on the magical island of Ibiza was all it took to truly ignite Mark's passion. There he met the close friends who helped put his career in focus and, eventually, gave him enough confidence to set off on the pathway to success. He set about learning to DJ as soon as he returned to the UK, playing mainly at home. “I was playing in my bedroom most of the time, pretending to myself that I was playing in big arenas!” he quips. During subsequent trips to Burning Man and Peru, Mark began to truly open his mind, delving deep into his inner psyche and discovering a deep connection to music.

Thirdly but my no means any less of a headliner: Lauren Lo Sung

Since moving to Carl Cox’s Safehouse Management Lo Sung has continued to evolve from strength to strength. Lauren gained interest on the scene through her productions, which has seen her release on a large number of notable labels such as Deep Tech Records, DRAFT, Love Not Money, Pole Position Records and more recently Innocent Music Deep with her excellent Keep The Groove EP which reached the top 20 on Beatports Minimal chart. Her performing career has seen her play at numerous major clubs and festivals such as Manchester’s famed Parklife Festival, The Warehouse Project, Yousefs prestigious CIRCUS parties, Sankeys Ibiza and Manchester, Dubai’s Tamanya Terrace, Croatia’s Love System Festival, Outbreak Summer Festival in Switzerland and Malta, and finally Amnesia in Milan.

With residents James Burton, Callum Till, T.D, Sam Dunphy, Chris Pall and Lewis Henry supporting these guys know how to set the level for what is going to be a huge night in Darlo. With 3 of the biggest names in the industry at the moment Music Matters is back.. and it means business.
