NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS with Luther Dickinson (Black Crowes) + BOSS CAINE
Lead guitar moneymaker in THE BLACK CROWES and textural foil for Rich Robinson solo, Luther Dickinson keeps raising his guitar game and there’s little he can’t dream up within the roots-rock context of the classic North Mississippi Allstars.
Joining him here, his brother Cody Dickinson is one of the world’s top drummers as well as an acclaimed soundtrack writer and producer for the like of Ian Siegal, Together, the sleepless carriers of the Hill Country blues torch (father was Memphis soul keyboard and production guru Jim Dickinson) formed the band in 1996 and released three Grammy-nominated albums ‘Shake Hands With Shorty’, ’51 Phantom’ and ‘Electric Blue Watermelon’
NMA are pure and genuine Southern blues and rock, “ … shaking it down in the juke joints with their blues ancestors R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Otha Turner”
Most recently, Luther and Cody have toured extensively with Robert Plant & The Band of Joy, headlined major festivals and toured internationally in their own right and as part of The Mississippi Mudbloods.
Luther and Cody continually expand the tradition of the Mississippi hill country blues that has inspired them from the beginning, but as Rolling Stone aptly notes, “the Allstars may be children of tradition, but they’re digging deep in undiscovered country”.
