Rewind Presents | AYIA NAPA SENDOFF - BACK TO '99
Let's go back!
The year - 1999. The place - The newly renovated utopia of Luton Airport. Stelios Giannakopoulos has just bought a load of second-hand Russian jets, painted them orange, put some plastic seats in them and called it EASYJET. And he's been referred to as a genius.
And due to a sudden change in the market, he has redirected almost all his summer routes from Ibiza to the Cypriot resort of AYIA NAPA. Why has this happened? Because house music is dead and UK GARAGE is taking over the world! You've crammed 16 pairs of Gucci loafers and 7 Moschino shirts into your tiny hand baggage allowance, and you've also stuffed in 3 grams of Colombia's Finest and a Swiss-Army Knife because - you know - 9/11 hasn't happened yet and regional airports still don't give a fuck. AND YOU'RE REALLY BLOODY EXCITED!
So that's it. Its summertime and ReWind is gonna do what we do best - take you back to the greatest era of UK dance music that you're just a tiny bit too young to have been a part of. And we do this so that when you lie to your grandkids in 40 years, at least you can use your memories of ReWind to give your narcissistic drivel some substance.
Expect palm trees, sand, champagne cocktails and the biggest baddest garage bangers and smoothest 2-step anthems to take you back to '99 and give you a Summer Sendoff in style!
