Shine are back once again in 2016 after Easter Sunday's exceptional CeCe Rogers live show with his DJ comrade, the man himself Marshall Jefferson. Only this time expectations presented for 'Shine Summer Good Life' at The Warehouse Leeds will again be more US & UK House Legends, including & flying over from the States, Detroit's founding father of Techno, Inner City's Kevin Saunderson heading the bill, joined by Chicago's DJ producer performer Robert Owens known for Fingers Inc, Mr Fingers, Tears collaborations with Frankie Knuckles & I'll Be Your Friend with David Morales & Marshall Jefferson. Scheduled Sat 2nd July.
DJ Producer Kevin Saunderson's back catalog of music he's turned his magical hand to, took a career pivotal point on the formation of his Inner City dance band in 1987 with female vocalist Paris Grey where tracks Big Fun & Good Life launched them into the main stream forefront with a notched up total of nine Top 40 UK Chart Hit's, also topping the US Billboard Dance Chart five times, their album Paradise which featured both of the aforementioned hit's also included another memorable album outstander, Secret's Of The Mind.
Throughout Inner City's quick establishing growth on record labels Virgin EMI & Columbia SME, a Detroit Techno House Sound was emerging fast, where Kevin went onto work on projects with Derrick May & Juan Atkins otherwise known as the Belleville Three. Although Inner City continued with their immediate releases of Do You Love What You Feel & Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin other highlighted numbers during their rise down the years by them are Pennies From Heaven, Hallelujah & Your Love. On the evening of Shine's Summer Good Life show, expect to hear many of the above tracks from the ultimate, that is Kevin Saunderson.
Robert Owens outta the Chicago House movement holds a phenomenal historic record of work within the music dance industry, he still to this day sings with a unique very diverse tone, whilst fronting current & classic house DJ Set's that take his skills across the globe as a much sought after musician. He'll be bringing to the UK table at Leeds Warehouse a classical set whilst singing 80's composition Tears produced by the renowned God Father Of House Frankie Knuckles, this DJ & mic performance will also be accompanied by '92's Def Mix version of I'll Be Your Friend. What Shine HQ are out to present is something with yet another theme twist of their five year reign.
UK's longstanding K-Klass join the main bill proceedings still reaching far & wide ever since their debut Wildlife EP almost 30 years ago which also included Into The Night plus others they became hot sellers with, such as Rhythm Is A Mystery & Let Me Show You, both entering the UK Charts featuring vocalist Bobbi then finally Pianone would be fair to say is an undisputed blinder.
Quadrant Park legend, 2am until 6am late music liquor license pioneer, is proudly presented by Shine, John Kelly alongside new Resident whose stood residencies with some of the best brands worldwide, ie: The Hacienda, Renaissance & Leeds longstanding Back To Basics, Buckley from Leeds, flying in from Ibiza & now holds his own UK residency with Leeds outfit Shine.
Other residents at Shine is usually Mark Alexander but due to personal issues can't play until Shine's 5th Birthday in November, so filling in on this July bill is Bradford's Richard Gill with a 2 hour warm up set into Shine's usual spectacular duration from Graham Dixon & Mark Holliday, taking The Loft upstairs by storm while Garry Dabill pick's up the Main Bill Main Room warm up set.
