Live Nation Presents Slayer at O2 Academy Leeds
Plus Anthrax + Kvelertak
Thrash metal band from California Slayer will be coming over to Leeds on Saturday the 28th of November for a show at The O2 Academy.
Slayer have been causing havoc all over the world since 1981, rising to fame in 1986 with Reign In Blood, which provoked the band to be recognised as one of the big four thrash metal pioneers alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Metallica. Selling 3.5 million album copies between ’91 and ’04, Slayer has become one of the biggest selling metal bands of all time.
Throughout the bands life they have released a grand total of 11 studio albums as well as a number of live albums, EPs and other compilations, winning a Grammy Award in 2007 for the single Eyes Of The Insane, which lies amongst a further five Grammy nominations.
In more recent years, Slayer embarked on an anniversary tour for the album Reign In Blood, with guitarist Jeff Hanneman unfortunately dying in 2013. The band have since debuted Implode, their first single in five years as well as announcing that a brand new album will be released on September 11th, titled Repentless.
Following the release of the new album, Slayer will go on tour, roaming the US and Canada throughout the summer before coming to Britain in November. Here they will play gigs up and down the country, which includes this date at The O2 Academy Leeds on November 28th.
