Plus Wretch 32
Snoop Dogg is returning to Leeds on Friday the 12th of December after his 2 hugely popular appearances as DJ Snoopadelic at nightclub Control. This time however, the Grammy nominated, multi number 1 selling artist will be playing a live gig at The O2 Academy Leeds.
Hailing from California, Snoop Dogg has been an icon in the hip-hop world from his early releases that include the debut album ‘Doggystyle’, which debuted at the top spot on both Billboard’s Top 200 and Hip/Hop Album Charts. After going 4x platinum and spawning hits like ‘What’s My Name’ and ‘Gin & Juice’, Snoops second album also dominated the charts and scooped further certifications, with a number of other LPs on different labels to follow this.
Shortly after a trip to Jamaica, Snoop announced his new alias Snoop Lion, which was followed by the release of the reggae album Reincarnated. This again hit the top spot on the US Top reggae albums and was also nominated for a Grammy, one of 16 nominations Snoop has received for the award.
Now working on his final ever solo studio album, Snoop Dogg has been touring the world, playing electronic music under his third alias DJ Snoopadelic, something Snoop says he’s always been interested in. After a number of gigs at venues like Manchester’s Albert Hall and The Brixton Academy, he is now back visiting cities as Snoop Dogg, who will host the O2 Academy on the 12th of December.
Also joining Snoop Dogg will be Wretch 32, the British rapper whose chart topping tracks like ‘Don’t Go’ and ‘Unorthodox’, collaborations with Example and Josh Kumra, have reached the top spot in the UK as well as becoming hits in other countries and spearheading Wretch’s 3 studio albums to high chart positions.
