Riddimstone featuring Daddy Woody
Grammy award winning and UK based roots reggae stars Steel Pulse will be coming to Birmingham’s The Institute on Friday the 3rd of April as part of their UK dates that are taking place throughout the coming months. As the only UK reggae band to have ever won a Grammy award they are revered for their spiritually uplifting music that will be calling all dancers to put on their dancing shoes and get involved.
It was their 1985 album ‘Babylon The Bandit’ that won their Grammy for Best Reggae Album, however this has not been their only nomination as they have since been nominated for the same award for the albums Rastafari Centennial, Victims, African Holocaust, Living Legacy and Rage & Fury. Each album has in turn fought against, educated and informed us about worldwide injustice, through large basslines, irresistible guitar hooks and hard hitting vocals, the right way to go about it if you ask me. This gig will see Steel Pulse performing a rally of classics as well as the possibility of new material everyone on the floor will be the first to hear.
