After a short summer hiatus, we return! Wednesday 5th October we play host to Sheffield legend and general mainstay Lo Shea and the rising star Winter Son. Many of you will remember our opening party with Marcus Worgull at Wire and we are proud to announce that we will be returning to the best basement in the north.
Liam ‘Lo Shea’ O’shea is a man who needs little introduction, especially not if you are at all familiar with the northern club scene. As current owner and resident of one of Sheffield’s best loved venues, Hope Works, his contribution to the local nightlife through events and workshops has put Sheffield on the map as a go to underground musical destination. Not only this, but Liam has had a string of successful releases on labels such as Phonica, Tamed Musiq and Transit alongside his own vinyl only Seaghdha label and techno imprint 100 years.
Manchester based producer Winter Son melds blissful techno workouts with dusty odes to synth-led rave. Over the course of three years he's released with Absurd / Acid Test, Skint, Let's Play House, Kim Ann Foxman's Firehouse, Rebirth, Chiwax, This Is It Forever and Sasha's Last Night On Earth, winning praise from the likes of Mixmag, Resident Advisor and XLR8R. Spending the majority of his time huddled over a vast array of vintage analogue equipment, matching driving synth arpeggios with kicks and snares that are sheer Detroit in motorik heaven, his music has seen strong support from heavyweights Daniel Avery, Solomun and Baikal to name but a few.
Support comes from Milan based Valka, whose vibrant and energetic style is sure to be well received, as his recent productions have been by the likes of both the Maeve and Innervisions camps.
