To use an overly used phrase (about an overly used word), the word legend is genuinely bandied about far too much in the world of dance music. But when getting down to the real nitty gritty of quality house and techno music and the handful of DJs who have done more for art form than others could dream of, it's impossible not to mention the New York born and grammy nominated DJ Danny Tenaglia.
When Danny discovered The Paradise Garage in 1979 everything changed as he found the club model that one day he would later emulate. Releasing his debut album in 1995, Hard & Soul, began his producing love affair with Tribal Records of his native New York – which later saw releases including Look Ahead and Ohno.
It was his second full length LP, Tourism, that really brought considerable production success with tracks Elements (managing two weeks at #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts in 1998) and Music Is The Answer (which made the UK top 40) gaining sizeable recognition.
Over the years Tenaglia has held residencies at the likes of Tunnel, Twilo, Vinyl – where his night Be Yourself set the tone for pure, music-lead events. After over 30 years of DJing, Danny continues to tour, despite several talks of retirement, spending most of his down time in his infamous loft conversion.
UK gigs are few and far between for Danny Tenaglia and his debut in Liverpool for what promises to be another legendary extended set at the ever impressive and newly refurbished The Garage is going to be something very special indeed.
Joining Danny will be two men that need no introduction, Selador Records duo Dave Seaman & local favourite Steve Parry whilst 303 residents Stuart Hodson and Samuel Lamont will be on warm up duties for this all nighter.
