ROOM 2 : CODE
Originally hosting parties in Ossette & The Afterdark in Morley in the early nineties, The Orbit grew from a small weekly provincial club into one of the biggest Techno clubs in Europe.
This special venue (The Afterdark club in Morley) opened in 1991 and hosted 10 years of groundbreaking techno/electronic music, with huge queue's of clubbers around the block, week after week, rain or shine.
People travelled from all over the UK to the small market town in Leeds to see Techno debuts DJs to grace the decks like Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke and Joey Beltram not forgetting the worshipped residents John Berry, Nigel Walker and Mark Turner. But unfortunately the good times couldn't last forever and The Orbit @ Afterdark, finally closed its doors on 26th July 2003.
Now, almost 10 years later, The Orbit returns to Leeds for the first time @ Mint Warehouse with some old favourites in the shape of Techno pioneers Joey Beltram & Mike Humphries. Joining them along side original resident, Nigel Walker will be new resident Gemma Furbank. The Code boys will be hosting the 2nd room
The Mint Warehouse located just a few minutes from Leeds train station will play host for this special reunion. With three rooms, including an outdoor terrace, all fully kitted-out with suspended Funktion-One rigs and advanced lighting and visual systems.
