Plus Special Guests
The War On Drugs, the four-piece band from Philadelphia Pennsylvania will be playing at The O2 Academy Leeds on Thursday the 26th of February during their UK tour dates starting in early November.
First forming in 2005, The War On Drugs’ second album ‘Slave Ambient’ was where things kicked off for the band as it was met with universal acclaim, ranking high in many independent album charts. After this release that contained popular tracks like ‘Best Night’ and ‘Come To The City’, the band went on to complete a large tour that was then preceded by their most recent album ‘Lost In The Dream’ that hit the shelves in March of this year.
Again in a mirroring to their second studio album, ‘Lost In The Dream’ received worldwide acclaim and with the held of lead tracks like ‘Under The Pressure’ and ‘Red Eyes’ climbed to number 18 on the UK Album Chart. With a sound that takes inspiration from many 80’s American rock artists, their music is awash with synthesizers, horns, keyboards and an ambience that can be heard in the sound of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen to name just a few possible influences.
There will be a number of special guests joining The War On Drugs in support, however these are yet to be announced.
