Tribe of Xanadu are now festival veterans and have spent the last 4 years running tents and areas at Y-Not Festival, Eden, Cock-Rock and many more. We will bring a truly experiential element to your NYE fun with fantastic music and a fully transformed venue.
YT is one of the hottest reggae artists to emerge from the UK. He now tours the globe constantly and is part of the UK reggae revolution with tracks like ‘Wicked Act’ and ‘England Story’ receiving extensive airplay around the world. Daddy Freddy is a true living legend. Born in Trenchtown he rose to prominence in Jamaica before settling in the UK during the late 80s. He has broke the Guinness World Record for speed rapping on five occasions and toured the world with recent performances as far afield as Mexico, Japan and China.
Peppery (fka Bongo Chilli) is a Sheffield favourite. Also a Jamaican expat he settled in the UK over a decade ago and has risen to become one of the top talents in the country. Peppery brings his good friend City Culture, a sweet and soulful reggae singer with decades of experience.
Selecting for these fantastic vocalists will be Zion Train frontman Dub Dadda. Dub Dadda is a gifted vocalist himself and has released several solo dub LPs. Rumour has it that he will be bringing a very special extra guest with him on the night.
K.O.G. is one of the more interesting and gifted musicians to come from Sheffield in many years. Fusing the sounds of his native Ghana with UK urban genres like grime and hip-hop, this will be one of the first performances from Kweku with his new full backing band, playing tracks from his brand new LP. Our second band in the main room are The Unscene, featuring a combination of well established Sheffield musicians and new, young talent. They are a hotly tipped new band playing a combination or funk, reggae and soul.
Room 2 will feature DJs from some legendary Sheffield promotions. The JuJu Club was first established over 25 years ago and was responsible for bringing a huge range of international artists to Sheffield including some massive acts like Desmond Dekker and Toots & The Maytals last year. Head honcho and local legend Papa Al will represent The JuJu Club. Thirsty Ear is a Sheffield-based DJ collective putting on eclectic nights that join the dots between funk, soul, reggae, afro/latin, hip-hop, beats, bangers and anything else that tickles are fancy. DJ T-Funk representing The Speakeasy and The Big Swing. A dancing master spinning a mixture of swing jazz and electro swing.
