Wilkinson presents Lazers Not Included
My Nu Leng
Camo & Krooked
Toryboy & Robin
Taking over Building Six at the o2 Arena in south east London, UKF's fifth birthday celebration is already one of the autumn's most highly anticipated clubbing events.
Camo & Krooked burst out of Vienna in Austria in 2011. Reinhard 'Camo' Rietsch and Markus 'Krooked' Wagner both made music on their own before they began producing thumping drum & bass together in 2007. Radio play and exposure led to a deal with Hospital Records in 2010, where they joined Netsky, High Contrast, Danny Byrd and more. Their three releases for the label so far are 'Cross The Line' (2011), 'Between The Lines' (2012) and 'Zeitgeist' (2013). UKF's birthday celebrations mark the first time Camo & Krooked - who are both former skateboarders - have brought their Zeitgeist live show to the UK. The heaving drops have slayed audiences around Europe, leaving behind a cavernous impact. Expect the show for UKF at Building Six to be no different.
Sussex-born producer and DJ Kove's career was rocketed when legendary d&b selector Andy C picked up his 'Idoine' track. The Ram Records man was excited enough to invite Kove to play at Fabric in 2012. Shortly afterwards 'Iodine' was released on Ram's sister label program and given heavy support by UKF's YouTube channel. Since then, Kove has been in high-demand across Europe, and this show for one of his earliest supporters will go off.
Writing about Tory & Robin, Beaport said "Their strong sense of pop music's formula stretched the typical catchy chorus over the length of an entire track. What results are sweet electronic rhythms complimented by even sweeter edits and alterations to blissful R&B vocal lines. Signed to Kove's label MTA (more than a lot), the duo formed while at university in Manchester and have been building fizzing club tracks ever since.
Headlining the event will be drum & bass man of the moment Wilkinson who will be playing at the event as part of his ‘Lazers Not Included’ tour that is visiting a number of clubs around the UK in the coming months. Wilkinson has had chart success with tracks like ‘Afterglow’ and ‘Half Light’ as has collaborated with vocalists like Tom Cane and Detour City on Andy C’s revered RAM Records label. Next on the line up is Camo & Krooked who will be performing tracks from their new album Zeitgeist, a long player that has drawn disco, house and minimal influences into their signature sound that has made them a household name on the drum & bass scene.
Up next is TC, whose mean jump up style has been championed by DJs all across the globe for some time. He has made himself known through tracks such as Get Down Low and his remix of DC Breaks’ ‘Babylon’ that have been released on a number of great labels. My Nu Leng brings bass heavy house and breaks to the table showing UKF’s love of variety, MTA Records star Kove continues the mix up with more drum & bass and house, before Toyboy & Robin switch things up to bring a serving of deeper house sounds that are commonly ridden with poppy vocals and high hooks. There are also many more acts to be announced, so watch this space for all the latest details.
