The first ever URBAN MUSIC SHOWCASE was held way back in 2000 at the legendary Temple Music complex in Bolton with swimming pool, cinema and over 3500 ravers establishing this as the biggest urban brand in the north.

Further URBAN MUSIC SHOWCASE events took place at The Mezzanine (Wolverhampton), The Sanctuary (Milton Keynes), Evolution(Leeds), Tokyo Joes (Preston), Liverpool Academy to name just a few…these massive events boasted both national and international acts such as DJ EZ, 112, Shola Ama, Trevor Nelson, Fatman Scoop, Dru Hill, Cassidy, So Solid Crew, Wayne Wonder, Mis-Teeq, Blue and Damage to name a few!

After a ten year break and after years of people demanding the return of the event we decided to do a one-off CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA for the Old Skool ravers.

In collaboration with UMS Events and Geestar Productions THE URBAN MUSIC SHOWCASE on Friday 18th December is set to be the biggest urban music gig the north of England has seen this year and is host to a line up to get you raving all night long!

DOOR TIMES: 11PM – late

Infamous 90’s RNB group Damage started off in ’95 with two big hit singles Love II Love and Forever both smashing the UK top 12. Their debut album Forever followed in 1997, along with two further UK Top 10 singles – "Love Guaranteed" and "Wonderful Tonight", the latter reaching number 3. The group then embarked on an extensive touring schedule. Damage returned to the UK music scene in early 2001 with their album, Since You've Been Gone. In 2001, they decided to call it a day, after Richards left the band. In early 2014, Damage reformed as a quartet without Richards for the ITV2 documentary The Big Reunion.

Confirmed acts from So Solid Crew include ASHER D – (Who’s acting career includes appearances in 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin', British films Bullet Boy, Life and Lyrics and mini-series Top Boy.) MEGA MAN and DJ SWISS (released "Cry" featuring Sharifa.) Before breaking into the mainstream market, So Solid Crew were involved with many London pirate radio stations. Whilst at Delight they made their name, occupying most of the Sunday schedule, the so-called So Solid Sundays. So Solid Crew's 1stalbum They Don't Know released in October 2001, was followed by remix album Fuck It in December 2001. Hit singles include Oh No (Sentimental Things) and the massive 21 Seconds, the latter reaching the UK No.1 spot in August 2001. They Don't Know reached no.3 in November 2001 and Haters got to number eight in January 2002.

Heartless crew started off way back in 1992 when thetrio met at north London’s Holloway Boy’s school. Their inspiration taken from BujuBanton, R. Kelly, Shabba, MC Det and Brockie. From playing at house parties and small clubs, they moved on to play a mix of R&B, hip-hop, jungle and dancehall on pirate station Mission 90.6FM in ’98. Heartless transitioned to BBC 1Xtra in 2002; where they presented their Sunday night show for 4 years. Heartless Theme was released in 2002 and was a massive hit around the UK’s garage club scene. Heartless Crew announced their split in pursuit of solo careers in 2011 yet Bushkin and Fonti went on to present the F.A.B. show on Rinse FM; they left the station in 2013, with Bushkin pursuing a career as recording artist. Since 2014 Heartless have been performing together again.

Lifford struck fame with the massive Artful Dodger track Please Don’t Turn Me On which was a top 4 hit in November 2000. The track was also a smash for International clubland, where it was PA’d in Ibiza, Palma, Copenhagen, New York, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and Germany.Other successful collaborations include features with Matt Jam Lamont, Grooverider, Wookie, Luck and Neat, Ras Kwame, Phil Asher, Nervous Records, Restless Soul, 2 Tuff 4 U, Fecktive Records, Soundmen On Wax, Open Bar Music, and Soul Kandi. A collaboration with Disclosure last year proved to be invaluable and helped to boost Lifford popularity once more with the remix receiving big radio support from Annie Mac, Toddla T, DJ Cameo, Benji B, Cameo and Target. Liffords live shows are always upbeat and unforgettable with a solid stage presence which is always passionate and unpredictable. Lifford is one of UK’s leading vocalists and is proud to be a member of SupaTight – laying down those phat soulful vocals and working the room!
