Basement Boogie is proud and honoured to present a true legend to the UK House music scene in the form of Joey Negro. Dave Lee as he's known to his mother was one of the first artists to incorporate Disco samples to House music when he began producing back in 1988.
The Joey Negro name was born in 1990 with the release of "Do It Believe It" on US label Nu Groove which went on to be a breakthrough success. He shortly followed this with "Do What You Feel" which eventually broke into the top 40 charts. Since then he has had countless hits both in the underground and in the mainstream through his many monikers including Dough Willis, Akabu, The Sunburst Band and Jakatta.
Holding down such a long standing career in this day and age is no easy feat but Lee has done just that and with that he has built up an incredible discography and a deep understanding of all things House and Disco which has ensured his status as a global DJ. Joey Negro's sets reflect his extensive love of music ranging from rare Disco right through to deep, soulful and occasionally tech House.
It'll be his Disco muscles that he'll be flexing down at Basement Boogie with a very special 'Disco Dust' set. This will certainly be a night for both the head and the feet.
