Dave Clarke can be described as a hard working purist, forward thinking futurist, technology geek, part Gothic and gadget lover who embraced the digital revolution in an early stage while his peers where still sniffing the smell of vinyl, a format he hasn’t used professionally in eleven years.
It’s unsurprising he revels in the libertarianism of the World Wide Web, as it gives him symmetry to his savvy techno vision.
Dave Clarke was born and raised in Brighton (United Kingdom) but currently resides in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), where Clarke found his comfort zone and revitalized him after moving from rural sedate Conservative Sussex. Being the offspring of a technology loving father and a disco-soul loving mother, it was evident that Clarke would “do something” in music eventually.
As a DJ, he plays out every weekend everywhere. At every event there’s the same attention to detail, his sets swooping whip-smart along the cutting blade of techno and electro, backed up by a seasoned bag of DJ tricks in which his early hip hop roots clearly show.
Dave Clarke will continue his newfound love for making music in 2013, gather airmiles by the gallon and preach his vision on techno both on the decks and on the radio, whilst never forgetting the long and bumpy journey he had to undertake to get where he is now: on top of the game, respected by both fans and peers and very much relevant in today’s scene.
He might be established, but he will never be establishment.
Joey Beltram is a techno pioneer, heralded as one of the scene's biggest stars.
What’s his secret? It could be put down to his experimentation and an unparalleled run of influential tracks.
Beltram grew up in Queens, one of the toughest boroughs of New York - the equal to Detroit for rough times but very different in its musical roots.
Beltram at 12 years old was DJing hip hop and electro, playing roller rinks and block parties to buy records, studio gear and decks.
He released his first tracks before age 18 on New York labels Nu Groove and Easy Street, and by 20 he caught the ear of Belgium's now pivotal R&S label with his track Let It Ride.
Beltram has continually toured at the major festivals around the globe treating the crowds to the full force of his inspiring sets, including, Awakenings, Coachella, BLOC in the UK and maby more, plus club gigs from Berghain to the 10,000 capacity Fabrik in Madrid to Fabric in UK and more.
