Plus Judith Hill
On the 6th October, the American singer and songwriter John Legend will be coming to the O2 Apollo in Manchester as part of his newly announced UK tour, taking place throughout the month. The nine Grammy award winning singer, who’s new album ‘Love In The Future’ has been storming the UK and US, will be playing six dates, the first of which will be in Manchester, ending at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.
John Legend’s musical career has been peaking in recent years after his soulful voice has been heard on the tracks of other chart topping singers and groups, including his appearances on Magnetic Man’s ‘Getting Nowhere’ and Jay Z’s ‘Encore’ amongst many others. John released his debut album ‘Get Lifted’ in 2004 and consequently drew the attention of these to-be-collaborators, opening up a string of opportunities that led to his second and third albums that were just as well received as the first.
In 2011, Legend revealed that his new album would be released this year, and since ‘Love In The Future’ has hit the shelves it has reached gold certification, holding home in the UK Album chart for 9 weeks and selling over 500,000 copies in the UK as well as a huge 3 million in the US. The lead single ‘All Of Me’ has also given John his first ever American number one. As always, “Love In The Future’ contains an array of heartfelt lyrics and melody that he has poured his heart into, however it has also opened up new musical paths as the album saw new collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross, Seal and Kimbra, showing John Legend’s apt for variety and maintain his reputation as one of todays most talented musicians and singers.
October 6th sees John Legend play live at the Manchester O2 Apollo, and with all the shows in his UK tour having much anticipation, tickets are not likely to last long.
John Legend Manchester Tickets go on sale Friday 30th May 09:00am.
