As the weather gets colder, the nice team at Kumasi Music have decided to throw their first Leeds label party to warm hearts and minds. In true Christmas spirit, Kumasi Claus has a sackful of musical sensations for you to boot.
Topping the bill is Belgian stalwart, Kolombo. This man needs no introduction to deep house heads, with huge releases on Solomun’s 2DIY4, Kompakt, Noir and more recently Matthew Dear’s Ghostly international imprint to mention but a few. He has released prolifically for many years under various monikers, and coupled with running his own LouLou records label, has a reputation that precedes him for unique and challenging deep house productions. Joining him is Ben Pearce, who is responsible for 2012′s biggest hit so far! ‘What I Might Do’ is currently sitting at the top of the very pile of Beatport’s Deep House charts, and is being championed by everyone from Jamie Jones, Solomun and Julio Bashmore, to Pete Tong, Chase & Status and Huxley. When it gets dropped on December 7th, it’s sure to be one hell of a magical moment! Adeline makes the journey from London via Sweden to play her own brand of vocal-laden tech-house, fresh off the back of releases for labels such as Get Physical and Kindisch. Manchester born Kreature, who is responsible for our debut EP on Kumasi Music, brings his taste-making take on nu-disco to Leeds. Kumasi’s own Jonny Hopkinson, Will Crawshaw and Jonny Cade, coupled with a set from the Flux Residents
Funktion 1 Soundsystem throughout.
