Camp Bestival is a multi award winning, family friendly festival set in the grounds of Lulworth Castle on Dorset’s dramatic Jurassic coastline. Camp Bestival is the sister festival of The Isle of Wight’s Bestival, which itself has won the ‘Best Medium Festival’ and ‘Best Major Festival’ awards on multiple occasions. Jam-packed with entertainment, which spans from musical performances to cultural shows, Camp Bestival offers attractions for all ages and tastes at this festival experience, which has commonly been referred to as a Festi-Holiday for all.
Like its bigger brother, Camp Bestival’s eclectic music lineup is curated by Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank, who has seen legendary music acts like Madness, Blondie and Chuck Berry play on the same line-ups as hotly tipped up and coming acts, some of which are now renowned around the globe like Florence & The Machine, Ellie Goulding, London Grammar and Gabrielle Aplin.
Since Camp Bestival’s first occurrence in 2008, the line ups have been littered with hugely recognised music acts, comedians, theatre performances and poets who together make up the weekend. Camp Bestival has seen musical performances from Flaming Lips, DJ Yoda, DJ Harvey, Calvin Harris, Mark Ronson, The Human League, Kool and The Gang, De La Soul and Chic to name a few. Also on the line-ups have been the clever and hilarious Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr, Milton Jones, Russell Kane and Jack Whitehall who have provided plenty of laughs for those seeking them.
Camp Bestival offers a large section of its festival site to the young ones who visit with their families. This section features a large amount of children’s activities including bouncy castles, go karts, bikes, circus tents, fairgrounds, sand pits and face painting amongst a host of other stuff for keep the little ones entertained.
