Heaton Park, Manchester
Heaton Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, and gets put to good use each year as Parklife brings some of the finest artists in dance music to its 600 acres. Open as a park since 1902, Heaton Park has an illustrious history of hosting concerts and festivals, with gramophone open air concerts taking place as early as the 1900s. Host to the Madchester ‘Cities in the Park’ events that saw Happy Mondays, De La Soul and 808 State entertain tens of thousands during the acid house era, the green space has proven a perfect spot for the biggest parties in Manchester’s history, serviced by excellent public services at its location just 5 miles north of Manchester city centre.
