Set within and amongst the surroundings of a 200-year-old military fort, Outlook Festival is Europe’s leading sound system and bass music festival to come to the outskirts of Pula in Croatia. Focusing on the best in dub, drum and bass, reggae, dancehall, house and more, Outlook Festival annually invites the best in the business for a 5-day throw down in one of the most unique festival locations in the world, Fort Punta Christo.
Opening with a concert in a 2000 year old Roman Amphitheatre that is one of the largest in existence, Outlook gets underway like no other festival in the world, with the likes of Jurassic 5, Grandmaster Flash, J Rocc, Roni Size and The Gentleman’s Dub Club having played at the opening concert in previous years.
Extraordinary arenas such as Noah’s Ballroom, Mungo’s Arena, Fort Arenas, The Moat and The Void are just some of the visually stunning locations that you will be able to get down, up and any way you want to your favourite artists. In addition there are also a series of beach and boat parties where you can unwind, relax and rejuvenate before the night-time revelry, or you can simply carry on through.
The music at Outlook Festival is an amalgamation of everything great about sound system culture and the music it entails. With world class DJs, live acts and sound system collectives appearing all through the 5-day period, there won’t be a moment you’re not dancing, if you wish it. The likes of Digital Mystikz, Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, DJ Premier, Jah Shaka, Goldie, DJ Marky, SPY, Slum Village, Pete Rock, Dusky, Congo Natty, DJ EZ, Loefah, Mala, dBridge, Toddla T and Norman Jay have all appeared at Outlook in previous years and the line ups just keep on getting bigger. Stages are powered by world-renowned sound systems recruited by the same team behind Leeds’ iconic SubDub parties, with The Iration Steppas, Trojan Sound System, Aba Shanti-I, Channel One, O.B.F and Mungo’s Hi Fi powering the beats in the past.
Fort Punta Christo
The unmistakable Fort Punta Christo was built at the end of the 19th Century to defend the city of Pula, the Austro-Hungarian monarchy's main naval point. Still a site of great magnitude today, the fortress covers 10,000 square meters of land, is surrounded by a deep ditch and sat 45m above sea level. Offering spectacular views of the Pula bay and one of the most imposing venues of any party space in the world, it is the iconic landmark that Outlook and Dimensions are best recognised by.
